2019 VGC Dress Code
All members and their guests are required to comply with the Club’s dress code. While Martha’s Vineyard is a very informal place to live and visit, proper decorum must be observed in the Clubhouse and on the Golf Course at all times. Dress code violations should be reported to the Clubhouse Manager, who will explain and enforce the rules. To avoid any embarrassment, it is the member’s responsibility to inform guests of VGC’s dress regulations.
General Rules and Golf Course:
Blue denim, shorts more than 4 inches above the knee, tennis shorts, bathing suits, tank tops, T-shirts, halter tops, and items containing political or contentious slogans or phrases are not suitable attire while at Vineyard Golf Club.
All hats must be worn with the bill facing forward.
Men: Shirts must be collared and tucked in at all times on the golf course.
Women: Golf shirts must have a collar or sleeves or both a collar and sleeves.
All changes of attire and shoes should be made in the locker rooms.
Dining Room and Clubhouse:
Bar, Grille Rooms and Porch: Casual and golf attire are permissible.
Dining Rooms: Casual and golf attire are permissible during lunch. In the evening men shall wear trousers and collared shirts. Shirts may be left untucked if that is the intended design of the shirt and ladies should dress appropriately.
Members must remove their hats when entering the Dining Room, Grille Rooms, Porch or Bar areas in the Clubhouse with the exception of ladies who are allowed to wear hats during lunch only.
Footwear –Men and ladies may wear open toed shoes and sandals in the Bar, Grille Rooms, Clubhouse and Porch areas of the Club. Ladies may wear dress sandals in the Dining Rooms.
