The Club

The Vineyard Golf Club opened in the summer of 2002 and it was the first new golf course to be built on Martha’s Vineyard in 30 years. The Club sits on 235 preserved acres on the island of Martha’s Vineyard and is located just two miles outside of the historic Edgartown village and close to the beautiful rural village of West Tisbury.

Designed as a walking course, the holes flow seamlessly from green to tee and the experience is enhanced by a caddie program that is among the very best in the Northeast. The course has many classic design elements that present varied and fun challenges to both seasoned and novice players. These qualities and characteristics are the work of noted golf course architects Gil Hanse and his design partner, Jim Wagner. A new front nine debuted in 2013 and a completely re-designed back nine followed in 2015. In recognition of their work, GOLF Magazine named Vineyard Golf Club the “Best New Private Course” of 2015.

The two-story Clubhouse is set low against the landscape in a classic unassuming Vineyard style. The two-story soaring foyer features custom wide-plank, hand-scraped hickory flooring, surrounded by natural birch paneling. The expansive porch wraps around the entire north side of the Clubhouse and offers stunning views of the course while enjoying lunch, dinner and cocktails.

The Vineyard Golf Club dining room enjoys a well-deserved reputation as one of the finest restaurants on Martha’s Vineyard and possibly in the entire Northeast. Executive Chefs Mark Chaput and Anthony Rabeni and their culinary team prepare each dish using only the freshest local ingredients. The three separate wood-paneled grill rooms create an intimate, sophisticated-yet-relaxed dining environment. The bar offers a casual setting for drinks or dining and the opportunity to socialize with friends and fellow members after play.

The Vineyard Golf Club offers world class golf, exceptional dining and the unique opportunity to be a part of a very special club.
