Drum Workshop The Drum Workshop, Inc. offers drumming experiences to groups of all ages and ability levels. They provide interactive sessions that build self-confidence and group skills to pre-school aged children, elderly, people with disabilities, and experienced players on and off of Martha's Vineyard. Dukes County Regional Housing Authority Founded in 1986, the Dukes County Regional Housing Authority provides and facilitates the development of affordable, quality, year-round housing for the residents of Dukes County. They review and address the housing needs with residents of low and moderate incomes. Hospice of MV Hospice of Martha's Vineyard is a free, community-supported program that provides physical, emotional and spiritual needs to all who are facing advanced illness and loss. They offer hope, comfort and compassion to all free of charge. They serve anyone in need with a life- limiting illness, regardless of treatment choices or prognosis. The Island Housing Trust The Island Housing Trust provides hope and tangible solutions to hundreds of working island families and individuals. The Trust acquires and creates permanently affordable homes, both ownership and rental, to bridge the gap between the island's high property values and the families who live and work here earning low and moderate incomes. MV Arena / Youth Hockey The MV Ice Arena enriches the lives of children, teenagers and parents. It is home to the MV Skating Club, Boy's & Girls High School Hockey teams and MV Youth Hockey. The Youth Hockey program teaches hockey in a safe, competitive and fun environment and emphasizes the importance of being a good teammate and sportsman. MV Boys and Girls Club The Martha's Vineyard Boys & Girls Club provides quality programs and services to Island youth. Programs help to develop self-esteem, leadership skills, personal values, and mutual respect, in a fun and safe environment. MV Hospital The Martha's Vineyard Hospital provides high-quality, accessible medical care to year-round and seasonal residents and Island visitors. Quality care is provided to all, regardless of their ability to pay. MV Preservation Trust The Martha's Vineyard Preservation Trust preserves and manages endangered historic landmarks. They restore living institutions to their rightful place, keeping historic landmarks in the mainstream of Island life. Sheriff's Meadow Foundation Sheriff's Meadow Foundation works to conserve the natural, beautiful, rural landscape and character of Martha's Vineyard for present and future generations. Town of Edgartown (Conservation Committee) The Edgartown Conservation Commission acquires and manages property for the purpose of conserving and/or preserving rare or unique aspects of the environment specific to the town of Edgartown. YMCA The YMCA of Martha's Vineyard improves the quality of life for children, individuals, families and the Island community through their programs, camps, facilities and classes. They provide year-round services for youth, adults and families, as well a at-risk teens. FUNDRAISING TOURNAMENTS The Vineyard Golf Club hosts golf tournaments annually to support these local organizations: Vineyard Nursing Association (VNA) The VNA brings professional and compassionate home health care to people of all ages on Martha's Vineyard. They provide an array of health services including skilled nursing and therapies in the home, as well as private care for individuals and families needing more help then insurance will cover. Edgartown Police The Edgartown Police Department works to improve and maintain the quality of life of citizens, living, working, or visiting the Town of Edgartown. They believe that crime is not only a police problem, but also a social problem, impacting all aspects of the community. Rotary Club of Martha's Vineyard The Rotary Club of Martha's Vineyard is comprised of over 60 active community members that are eager to give back to their Island. Based on the efforts of their members, more than $200,000 has been given to more than 60 Island charities over the years. |
